On September 26th 2016, the Colombian government signed a peace agreement with the oldest guerrilla in the western hemisphere: FARC. A year later, four teams of photographers, chroniclers and documentarist were sent to different regions to witness the state of the coca crop substitution process and document it both in video and in a book.

I was sent to Putumayo and this video is the result of that trip. In 5 minutes it explains how the laws of the free market, made good peasants grow coca, and tells the story of a family that decided they would rather starve than cultivating that crop.

Big kudos to Natalia Ramírez and El Jardín de Las Delicias for setting up these teams and delivering an outstanding book and 4 short documentaries.
